...last week was a civilian, and it wasn't a Palestinian bullet that severed an artery in his left leg and destroyed his right knee. An Israeli soldier shot Gil Naamati as he protested at the section of the "security fence" that cuts through the West Bank village of Masha. Naamati was hit by live ammunition after he clipped a piece of razor wire. "You shouldn't have done that," Yaalon said quietly. "I know," Naamati replied, shrugging, "but it's not a capital offense." That depends. The shooting of Naamati by a Golani Brigade trooper sparked a debate among...

...sisters on the birthday of Irina (Furrow), the youngest sister. The event takes place a year to the day after the death of the sisters’ father. Despite the constant allusions to their father made by the oldest sister, Olga (Lerhman), and the depression of the middle sister, Masha (Thomas), Irina maintains an attitude of excitement that is a key contrast to her sisters’ dourness. ...constant changes of character do justice to the often excellent acting. Only Page Leong (Nina and Masha) really seems comfortable with the constant transitions, managing to define and distinguish her two roles without overacting. Shishir Kurup solves this conundrum by hamming up Sorin so that he can play Taper/Trigorin with deadpan nonchalance. Christopher Liam Moore, on the other hand, makes little distinction at all between Cam/Konstantin and Simon/Medviedenko. As with other aspects of the play, enormous promise, here in the form of fine acting, is ultimately undermined by taking dramatic conceits like these schizoid duos...
