Since the close of the football season the press of the country has voiced a general demand for revision of the football rules. An undue number of severe injuries and the preponderance of mass plays are the features of the game which are most severely criticised. Owing to Mr. Garcelon's appointment to speak at the mass meeting in the Union at 8 o'clock he was introduced first. He began by giving unstinted praise to the work of the second team during the season of 1909.
