...time for handing in contributions for the football song competition has been extended until 8 o'clock Sunday night. The new songs approved by the Song Committee will be tried out at the mass meeting Tuesday, as well as "Cambridge Town," "No Hope for Yale," and "The Spirit of Harvard," which did not receive a fair trial at the last mass meeting owing to the band's lack of practice. New songs may be written to original tunes, or may be set to familiar tunes whose rhythm and swing make them appropriate football songs. The song or songs meeting with...
...idea of having the members of the Glee Club sit together at the mass meeting Tuesday night was a good one. Unfortunately, however, the fellows near the middle of the hall could not hear them. The result was that many of us did not get the tune of the songs accurately. Why not at the next mass meeting carry the excellent idea of Tuesday night one step further, and have the Glee Club sing each song several times before the whole meeting takes it up? Then everybody will know what he is to sing, and he will be able...

Professor Peabody will speak on "The Political and Social Significance of the Life and Teachings of Jesus." This address will mark the opening of the dormitory Bible classes, which are conducted by the Christian Association...

Everyone recognizes that organized cheering and singing is a tremendous asset toward success in any game, and certainly in the games still to be played the team has need of the strong support of the undergraduate body. The enthusiasm displayed so far is most...
However helpful cheering at a game may be, we do not believe that the quality of routine football practice would be improved by mass meetings in the Stadium, as is suggested by a communication. The team is usually too busy with the work of the day to care to be distracted by watching the evolution of some new song. On the day before a big game, when the team is merely given light exercise, a demonstration of the kind referred to in the communication is an excellent thing, but football practice and singing practice will both be more successful...
