Issue of July 29 contains a rather grating error on p. 21 second line under the third mention of the name STIMMING. "Mein herren"' is very poor. It should be "Meine Herren." Nouns are always capitalized no matter where they occur. "Mein" is singular but must agree with the plural of the modified noun in number, "Herren." You are giving yourself repeated boxes on the ears with such expressions...

...Single Standard (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer). Greta Garbo usually manages to make her roles real no matter how badly written they are. This story about a fashionable woman who insists on the right to make her own mistakes is better than most of such stories. The idea out of which grow its romantic, typically cinematic situations is also the basis of a moment of drama. Last week soldiers of the First Jugoslavian Infantry stationed at Bosiljgrad sat down for an hour to hear all about hand grenades, while other less fortunate soldiers drilled, marched and sweated in the courtyard below. Young Lieutenant Jovice gave the lecture. Before him lay a loaded hand grenade, not the compact "pineapple" type of Mills bomb familiar to thousands...

Pitchers. The pitchers have been having a hard time. Where once it was something of a disgrace for a pitcher to be batted out of the box, it is now a matter for comment when a pitcher lasts the full nine innings. "Best" pitcher of the year has been Robert Moses Grove of the Philadelphia Americans. A huge young man, Pitcher Grove propels the ball at such speed that few batters are able to time it correctly, and no matter how "lively" a ball may be it will travel no distance when the batter misses it. The Grove record...
