Wendell Phillips Club.The Wendell Phillips Club held its first meeting of the year last evening. Mayor Bancroft had been invited to address the members of the society. He spoke of the value of debating clubs at Harvard as part of a man's education here. He said that there was a great lack of public speakers who were able to talk clearly and interestingly, and he urged upon the students to take advantage of the opportunities for practice in debating offered by the Harvard clubs...
