The McAdoo men wanted an evening session to get the nominating business out of the way in hope that a few ballots might be taken before the platform, and hence the Ku Klux Klan issue, came before the delegates. The Anti-McAdooites wanted to adjourn for the day. Senator Walsh called twice for "Ayes" and "Noes" but could not decide.
