Contrary to his expectations, Captain A. McC. McDonell, C. A. C., the Government's official inspecting officer for the University Corps, did not return to Cambridge yesterday for the review of the Second and Third Battalions. In his absence the inspection was conducted by Major Flynn, assisted by the battalion commanders; and the two organizations were afterwards reviewed separately by their commanding officers. This morning at 7.30 o'clock the Second and Third Battalions of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps at the University will be inspected by Captain Austin McC. McDonell, C. A. C., who is officially representing the War Department on a tour of inspection through the infantry training corps maintained by various colleges in New England. Announcement was made from Headquarters' Office yesterday that Captain A. McC. McDonell will inspect the members of the Second and Third Battalions on Soldiers Field at 7.30 o'clock tomorrow morning, upon his return to Cambridge.
