...error by Mays, a squeeze play by the Rhode Islanders, followed by a base hit by Martynik, opposing pitcher, garnered the visitors two runs in the opening half of this frame. In Harvard's half of the inning McCaffrey started things off by receiving a pass. McGrath hit safely, and advanced to third on Ticknor's sacrifice fly, later scoring on an error by Cragan, visiting backstop. ...right field, a ball which proved too much for Pray of Rhode Island, who juggled the sphere for a long enough time to let the batter circle the bases. Sheldon hit safely, after which Martynik took a brace and struck out Mays and Taylor. Passes to McCaffrey and McGrath filled the bases, but Cragan pulled his team out of a bad hole by hurling himself high against the screen behind the batter's box to capture a foul knocked by Ticknor, thus ending the inning...

...stiff opposition wins over Brown, Princeton, Dartmouth, and Penn to its credit in recent tilts. The Yale baseball team, which Harvard meets for the first time on June 16 at New Haven, spent Saturday afternoon administering a 5 to 2 beating to the Princeton team which recently lost to McGrath's compatriots by a 7 to 2 margin. The Elis did not play impressive baseball, however, making but six hits, while two of their tallies were presents from two Princeton twirlers, each of whom issued bases on balls at the wrong time to force in the scoring...
