This prize, consisting of $100 and a silver medal, is offered for the best poem on a subject or subjects annually chosen by a committee of the Department of English. Competing poems should not exceed fifty lines, should bear an assumed name, and should be accompanied by a sealed letter containing the true name of the writer and superscribed with the assumed name.
