...play chosen by the Cercle Francais for presentation next year is "L'Amour Medecin," an amusing three act comedy in prose, with a lively ballet at the end of each act. It was written by Moliere in 1665 and acted by his troupe within five days after Louis XIV ordered it written. It is called by the author "un petit impromptu," but is delightful in its variety and dash. Unlike many classics, it depends for success largely on the acting. ...first public performance of the French plays, "Crispin Medecin," and "Un Jeune Homme Presse," was given in Bratt'e Hall last night. In spite of the fact that three changes in the castes of the plays were made necessary at short notice, the performance as a whole was very successful. In "Crispin Medecin" W. D. Haviland '01, played "Crispin" in place of P. B. Haviland '01. And in "Un Jeune Homme Presse" P. B. Haviland's part was taken by A. Champollion '02, while A. S. Dixey '02 played Colardeau in place of Champollion. W. D. Haviland deserves great credit...
