Members of the media were coming up to me asking for my opinion on the precipitous drop of Akpan’s draft stock. I did my best to reason that his MLS combine performance (underwhelming by most accounts) had hurt him, but surely four years of dominance (including a stint with the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team) would take precedent in team evaluations, right?
