At 8 o'clock tonight Dr. Robert B. Osgood, professor of orthopaedic surgery, emeritus, of the Medical School, will speak on the "Social Aspects of Medicine." The lecture, sponsored by the Student Union, will be held in the Junior Common Room of Winthrop House.
Dr. Osgood plans to have a lengthy question period at the end of the hour. The Public Health Committee of the Student Union expects him to discuss present-day trends in the distribution of medical care, with special reference to the importance and position of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Osgood, a native of Boston, graduated from Amherst College in 1895 and from the Harvard Medical School in 1899. Since then he has risen to a position of eminence in the field of orthopaedic surgery, and more recently has become quite active in the American Medical Association.
