...Abraham Cahan, concerns a small group of transplanted Jews painfully adjusting to the promised city. Yekl (Steven Keats) now calls himself Jake, works in a sweatshop and courts Mamie (Dorrie Kavanaugh, an actress of spirited sensuality). He takes in a boarder, a subdued former Yeshiva student named Bernstein (Mel Howard), and prepares for the coming of his wife Gitl (Carol Kane) and infant son from the old country. Now they've changed to showing programs for longer stretches, and the program of shorts they're running now is there is their kick-off flick. Short films by Lindsey Anderson (If, O Lucky Man!), by Mel Brooks, by Roman Polanski, Brian DePalma, Truffaut, Godard, and a famous Belgian animator named Servais. I just examined their announcement and see that the prices and times are still insanely garbled. Maybe you should call 354-5678 for details...

...arrested men, Mel Patrick Lynch, 37, a New York City fireman, and Dominic Byrne, 53, a Brooklyn limousine operator, have signed statements admitting their roles in the eight-day abduction of the 21-year-old Bronfman.
