Such offences against decency cannot be too severely censured. The Newark men behaved like gentlemen and were entitled to be treated as gentlemen. When so much has been said of the danger of associating with professionals, it is humiliating that the first complaint must be made against college men. The offenses yesterday it is to be presumed, were not intentional but were due to thoughtlessness and the excitement of the close contest.
