In spite of this reputation the course is one of the best open to students with good grades who wish to fulfill distribution requirements, and at the same time get an excellent survey of music from Palestrina to the present day. Although this is a new record for the University, Harvard College is slightly behind in numbers so far enrolled. A total of 3165 men have so far registered in the College. Of this total the Freshmen led in number enrolled with nine hundred and ninety-one. The Sophomores stand second with eight hundred and forty-six students. Six hundred and ninety-four are enrolled in the Junior class, while the Seniors number five hundred and sixty-two. This year there are seventy-two out of course students. ...most significant trends in the academic side of college is shown in the figures on the standings of readmitted Freshmen printed in this morning's CRIMSON. These show that of those men who had already had their connections with the University severed due to poor academic standing and were readmitted to the class of 1932 nearly one half finished last year with such unsatisfactory grades as to necessitate either expulsion or a period of probation.
