...President and Fellows have just made an announcement which will be welcome, especially to the needy men who are trying to prepare for Harvard. Edward Hopkins, a wealthy London merchant, in the seventeenth century left bequests for Harvard, Yale and the founding of several Hopkins Grammar Schools. One was situated in Cambridge; but it died out about 35 years ago. The fund which supported it was turned over to the Cambridge Latin School for a time; but now, by the original deed, is to be divided into nine scholarships which will pay for the education of nine students preparing...
