JUST MAYBE, THERE IS A CEASE-FIRE IN THE GLOBAL air wars. As a first step toward easing transatlantic tensions, the U.S. Department of Transportation has tentatively approved the proposed merger of Northwest and KLM Royal Dutch airlines.
