Endeavors to introduce out-of-door athletics at Wellesley have met with marked success. Up to the opening of 1892 no systematic out-of-door work had been given the students. Early in the week two members of the Wendell Phillips Club, A. S. Apsey and F. C. Thwaits, the latter of whom took the place of P. G. Parsons, met two from the Yale Union in debate at Newport, on the invitation and under the auspices of the Unity Club.
