...notes (“Bronze’s beats are all like Rza’s sound!!”) may claim. The beat to “Cars on the Interstate” is a complete rip-off of “Bring The Pain,” Method Man’s devastating classic from 1994, and serves only to rekindle nostalgia for Shaolin glory days.Thrown on top of these comatose beats are performances by about a thousand other underground rappers, including decent verses from R.A. The Rugged Man, J-Live, and C-Rayz Walz. But for every...
...seriousness, America cannot reject the International Criminal Court and the Kyoto Protocols and the metric system. Something simply has to give. The best method for Harvard to protest our nation’s uncouth tendencies toward unilateralism is simply to get rid of the Imperial system, or—as I’m told Bush calls it in private—“the freedom system.” Surely no one would disagree that America’s domineering and swaggering use of the inch and the pound is closely linked to our nation?...
...examination is in fact worthwhile and well-designed. But inherent problems are certain to remain. In particular, GRE writing section grades are notoriously correlated with essay length. The Princeton Review GRE preparation book admits this trend and even advises test-takers to strategize accordingly. Phoenix is most comfortable discussing his approach to acting--a tortuous, self-invented method that involves avoiding people or things that remind him he is not the character he is trying to play. Eventually, having exhausted his favorite subject and parried the introduction of any other, he announces that time's up. The defensive victory is his. At least he's a good sport. During a moment alone with the tape recorder...
Mention sunflowers and you probably think of the famous painting by Van Gogh or perhaps the tasty salad oil. But Valerie Dupont, a scientist at England's University of Leeds, thinks of hydrogen. Last summer Dupont and her team developed a method for extracting hydrogen using nothing but sunflower oil, air, water and two specialized catalysts. That development may help solve one of the chief problems slowing the advance of the much touted automobile fuel cell: how to provide a clean, renewable source of its hydrogen fuel. The process works by vaporizing oil and water, breaking them down and capturing...
