Most teachers now prefer the bilingual method. Says Winnie Porter, a bilingual teacher at the Cesar Chavez Elementary School in San Francisco: "It's very simple. You teach children in the language they think in; then they understand the concepts. Once they understand the concepts, they can transfer these skills to a second language. I know it works. I've been doing it for 10 years and see the results." But many communities cannot afford or attract qualified bilingual teachers in all -- or any -- of the subjects students may need. ...better time than now for the Interhouse Facebook project to get underway. Production of the facebook will be easier than ever before because of the new computer imaging system used to create Harvard ID's. Nevertheless, Arnold Richards, editor of the American Psychoanalytic Association newsletter, dismisses any attention paid to Freud's private conduct: "It has no scientific practical consequence. It's not relevant to Freud's theory or practice...
...student body apparently possesses a poor understanding of the resources available. Many students have never heard of the programs or they believe that they are some type of "mushy" method in which the counselors have a list of positive adjectives to spit out when you call or drop in. It is not enough to advertise these programs in the Radcliffe pamphlets that barely anybody reads...
