...Return of Sophie Lang (Paramount) is a shipboard anecdote of a thief's (Gertrude Michael) redemption. Force opposing: Sir Guy Standing as Max Bernard, a scoundrel trying to compel Miss Lang to resume the racket she faked death to desert. Force assisting: Ray Milland, once of the late George V's palace guards, as Jimmy Dawson, a reporter so infatuated that he was in the habit of leaving bouquets on the supposed grave of Miss Lang inscribed "in memory of glamour." Next week will be held a great mass meeting near Homestead, at which the graves of the workers...

Those who accepted beheld a Norman stone edifice blessed by Detroit's Bishop Michael James Gallagher. What made this ceremony notable was that the church is one of the few parish churches in the U. S. maintained on a layman's estate, perhaps the only one in which lay Catholics may be buried. Its builders: Theodore Francis ("T. F.") MacManus & wife...
...year-old tradition holds that no woman may enter Harvard Yard in Cambridge, Mass, on Commencement Day. Last week Mrs. Mary Curley Donnelly, 25-year-old daughter of Massachusetts' Governor James Michael Curley, broke the tradition by driving her automobile into the Yard behind her father's as he arrived for the ceremonies. An official quickly caught Mrs. Donnelly, led her out. John J. Appel of Teaneck, N. J. found in his bungalow a 15-lb. snapping turtle with "Alf Landon" painted on its back. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lynchburg, Va.'s city charter...
