Harvard won the toss and Yale kicked off against the wind. For the first few minutes, there was no apparent advantage on either side. After both teams had tried to score, Francke finally tallied on a long shot from mid-field, and during the remainder of the half the play was principally in Yale's territory. Carnochan secured the second goal by good individual work after the ball had been brought within shooting distance by the excellent team work of the forward line. Yale several times tried for a goal, but Nichols proved invincible...
Following this score, there was a great deal of desultory scrimmaging in mid-field until the University pushed its way to the 25-yard line; from there, Mahan kicked a field goal. The third score by the University team came soon afterwards, when Soucy picked up a fumble and ran from mid-field for a touchdown. The second team later was as fortunate, however, when a fumble by the University was recovered by Greene, who crossed the goal-line before he was tackled...
...advanced the ball to the 10-yard line, Brickley carried it over in three powerful rushes. Storer kicked the goal. Storer missed the goal, for the ball was carried across near the sidelines, and the punt-out was poor...
...first touchdown came immediately after the ball had been put in play. The regulars took it in mid-field and by plunges by Hardwick and Brickley carried it over for a score, the latter scoring the touchdown. In the advance, the forwards showed up very well in opening holes for the runners. The second score was not made so easily, for the seconds braced and forced the University to do its utmost to make the distance on short gains. Finally, however, Brickley managed to squirm through to the goal-line. The second team was not given the ball...
...first down, but was penalized and tried to punt. Trumbull came through the line on a terrific charge, blocked the kick, and sent the ball flying over the Brown goal where Coolidge fell on it for the second touchdown. Hardwick kicked the goal. A little later Felton stood in mid-field ready to punt. The game seemed to stop, waiting for the kick. Suddenly he passed the ball across the line into Coolidge's arms for a 33-yard gain. Short rushes placed the ball on the 4-yard line where Brown held, forcing Brickley to try another drop...
