...Mill. Mill, you know, is a terrific philosopher, but I also find him very appealing as a human being who could respect women. If you think of most of the great figures of philosophy, most were incapable of respecting women. Mill didn’t just write about that, he lived that. When I ask myself who would I like to meet, I think, “Well, I would like to meet somebody who would talk...
...Upon arrival, guests are given bikes so they can zip along the five kilometers of paved paths that wind past the island's historic sugar mill, savanna-like grassland and fields where wild black-and-white sheep graze. In Antiguan, jumby means "playful spirit" and the resort's extracurricular activities cover the gamut, from snorkeling excursions to nearby Bird Island to champagne stargazing (you can spot the elusive Andromeda galaxy) and nighttime treks along Pasture Beach where the hawksbill sea turtle nests. The concierge can even arrange mock regattas, pitting groups of friends or families against each other...
...features redeeming the complacency of most of the album is Deschanel’s voice, She & Him’s undoubted strength. Her vocals vary between soulful, childlike, and ethereal. "The quality of grapes produced by it is evidenced by the wines now in the cellar," wrote the St. Helena Star in 1882, "one of which - the Zinfandel Claret - we have rarely seen equaled." Most wine aficionados believe that the 1976 "Judgment of Paris" - the historic blind tasting by French critics who, to their own shock, preferred American entries...
Rooms: With fewer residents spread out along Mill Street in DeWolfe next year, most students will be in Smith Halls (Kirkland's main building) or "The Annex." In addition to no cable or air conditioning, that means a lot of doubles for sophomores and even juniors. Those who are lucky enough to snare singles may have to deal with walk-throughs or lack of common rooms. n+1 housing will almost certainly be reserved for seniors. So, all right, there's a small price to pay for being in the best House on campus...
