Drinking, everyone must acknowledge, is a perennial college pastime which has contributed to the gaiety of the undergraduate experience for centuries. The current law of the United States, namely a national minimum drinking age of 21, has not changed for the better the cultural mores of those toward whom the law is geared. Rather, it has served to infantilize the entire college-aged population and create taboos which make alcohol all the more desirable.
