Krauthammer is mistaken. If Israel backs away from the negotiating table now, the terrorists will have achieved their objective: interrupting the peace process. No one expects Israel to ignore terrorism or cease attempting to prevent it. But by suspending the peace talks, Israel will ensure that any effort to resume the negotiations will again be met with violence. If the talks continue, however, the terrorists' acts will be rendered futile.
