Because Harrison takes great care not to leave himself open to any possible libel action, it was not until March 9 of this year that one of his targets--Hollywood actor Robert Mitchum--filed the first suit against Confidential. As a whole, Director Laughton's Night is a self-conscious experiment in production, filled with stylized lighting and acting, off-beat music and tricky camera angles...
