...songs in this production couldn't make it over the formidable wall of sound imposed by the almost too capable orchestra. And that is a shame, because Michael Schubert--yes, that wonder kind of the past three Pudding scores--has produced a most tuneful score, with just the right mix of dance numbers, love songs (of sorts) and punny quickies. Maybe I am going deaf, but I heard--and I suspect this to be true for others--only a few of those clever lyrics...
...examined Sunny when she was taken to Newport Hospital on Dec. 21, 1980, suffering her second coma, said that she had "low blood sugar and an incredibly high insulin level," which is considered an abnormal combination. The defense had hoped that pretrial depositions from lab technicians would substantiate a mix-up in tests indicating that the insulin might have been manufactured in Sunny's body after her admission. Kansas' Robert Dole, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, toured boardrooms, banks and the markets and came back to Washington bearing the same message from Reagan boosters in the world of finance: Hundreds...
Ordinarily one does not advertise in this space, but occasionally commerce and virtue coincide. Behold the Graffiti Gobbler-"the first effective, no mix, inexpensive formula that quickly and easily removes graffiti without harming the original appearance of the surface." (Did you feel your heart leap?) Already proved successful in Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Detroit and Windsor, Ont. (Canadian graffiti?), the "spray-on, wipe-off' Gobbler is right now being tested on the New York City subways, the end of the line. If it works there, its Australian inventor, Norman Shuttleworth, will be the Emperor of Gotham. No fame will equal...
