...size of the original building, yet, with all this additional room, the school is full to overflowing. The wing has long been needed, and as we enjoy its conveniences, we congratulate ourselves that it has come in our time. Among other things, one peculiarly "Lasellian" feature is the model kitchen, where our future housekeepers practise weekly the art and mystery of cooking. It is a pleasant sight to watch a group of enthusiastic girls at the work, with rolled-up sleeves and floury fingers, entering so ardently into what will become for so many of them, very soon, a serious...
...M.FOR the benefit of their eight subscribers, we correct the following Aberrations: A model proposal should have been A modest proposal; with should have been with; jittle should have been little; the editorial article on Josiah Quincy should have been written eight months ago, since the name has been on the statue since last spring; to who should have been to whom; the "Proctors' Table Talk" should have been freed of a few vulgarities; and the "Proposal," whether "Model" or "Modest," should not have been accepted...

Let him think that the variation means superior excellence on his side; be satisfied with knowing, yourself, that you have changed only to improve. Enough on this score. Your inborn qualities will either make or mar you here. No education...
...Yale. The Yale papers carry a self-assertive air, that is apt at times to degenerate into braggadocio, as in the recent matter of the football championship. Of the Record and the Courant, the former is the more gentlemanly; but the News is after all our favorite, - a model which other colleges dailies would do well to imitate . . . Then Columbia is the very spirit of wit, - too apt, in the case of the Acta Columbiana, to degenerate into vulgarity. Of the Spectator, with its admirable illustrations, we wish to speak in terms of unqualified approval. It is suggestively humorous rather...
