...rare that we are not trained to appreciate the delicate finish of these books, yet one cannot help admiring the vellum and gilding, the colored leather, and even the ivory and precious stones. The handsomest books in the collection are two reprints of old books full of monkish illustrations of the Florentine school, the one a translation of the Imitation of a Kempis, the other the Livre d'Heures de la Reine Anne de Bretagny.
