...moral of the Built to Spill story? There is none. At least not one I can tell you. Live, the band veers from one violently brilliant extreme to another. Some shows tumble into unbelievable 30-minute long jams on b-sides of singles released five years ago. Others are made up of drop-dead perfect sonic recreations of the album, filled out with the intensity of Martsch flailing at his guitar before your eyes. Then again, Martsch has probably completely rewritten the Built to Spill playbook by now, just to keep us critics on our toes. The only...

...accepting women as members, the final clubs will demonstrate that they are in touch with the moral dictates of American society today. I believe it is only a matter of time before the final clubs will admit women into their ranks. They can open their doors of their own volition or hesitate until some yet unforeseen from of coercion accomplishes that for them. ...Moral issues aside, the Dartboard sees some practical objections to organ subsidies. For example, could this induce families to lie about the medical histories of their loved ones to make the organs appear more attractive? "Aunt Ginny hasn't touched the bottle in years!" Long term effects could be even more serious. While officials swear that there will be absolutely no bidding, this could be the first step towards a booming human organ market? Maybe celebrity organs would become a new hot commodity--if Elvis' sequined jackets would bring in thousands, what about his pancreas...
