...vote of 10 to 5, the Foreign Relations Committee rejected a motion proposed by Glenn to delay action on the treaty. Late this month the committee is expected to endorse the pact; there are eight sure "ayes" and possibly as many as twelve. The only question is how many amendments will be added by the committee and how damaging they will be. Full Senate debate is expected to begin some time in November. Majority Leader Robert Byrd feels that the treaty will gain support if the debate is televised and the public becomes acquainted with the basic issues...

Most of the staples of burlesque are in Sugar Babies. The attempts at strip tease are pretty stripless, but there are consolations even in that sector. In a tribute to Sally Rand, Barbara Hanks and the entire chorus manipulate their lushly feathered fans with the trancelike motion of peacocks performing a ballet. There is a howlingly funny dog act, durable through the decades, in which a sullenly uncooperative spaniel does no stunts while his agonizingly animated trainer (Bob Williams) covers for the beast...

...floor. Liddy picked at the soft plaster until the tile came loose. Again using one of his handmade tools, he removed the tile and slipped it into his coat pocket. Liddy plunged three fingers into the vacant hollow and withdrew a small white paper slip. In the same motion he placed the paper in his pocket, replaced the tile, and tiptoed back to the hall. He didn't want the Hungarian cleaning lady to surprise him again...
