Owen will be in the pitcher's box tomorrow when the University faces the Providence nine on Soldiers Field, according to the present plans of Coach Slattery. This will be his first appearance on the mound since his Freshman year when he hurled the team to a 15 to 5 victory over the Yale freshmen in a free hitting game...
...which played on the home field at Providence, with the exception that Cole will replace Mitchell at third and Wilson who batted for Dugan in the ninth last Wednesday will take the latter's place in left field. The invaders have not definitely decided who will start on the mound but it will be either Dugan or Leddy who was slated to relieve Neubauer in the last game had it been necessary. The fact that Dugan has been freed from his position in the field would seem to show that he will probably take over the pitching duties...
...over the Brown nine by a 5 to 0 score in Providence yesterday avenging last year's defeat at the hands of the Bear combination. The advantage lay with the Crimson players from the start and their less powerful opponents showed but few threats of scoring. Young, on the mound for the University, allowed only four scattered hits while six were collected off Neubauer, three of them being doubles. Owens and Young both drove out home runs...
