...only time the Black Bears were able to mount any attack at all was at the opening of the second half with the score already 2-0 in Harvard's favor. The Black Bears' relentless pressure eventually resulted in a score to draw Maine within...
...many species, particularly among mammals, homosexual-like activity is an integral part of social interaction. As any cattle rancher can attest, cows frequently mount each other. Apparently this ensures that all the females coordinate their reproductive cycles and then produce their calves at the same time. Female rhesus monkeys mount other females as a way of establishing a dominant rank in their troop's hierarchy...
...they need testosterone and plenty of it early in life. Gorski and his team have found that if they castrate rats just after birth, the animals will exhibit behavior typical of a she-rat with the hots: arching their backs, flexing their tails and allowing other males to mount them. But by injecting these neutered males with testosterone, researchers can return them to maleness. However, such "rescues" work only during the first five days after birth. Isoflavones in the beans have been shown to prevent liver cancer in animals by breaking down toxic agents that can cause the malignancy. A strong word of warning about soy: it also contains protease inhibitors, which have been linked to the development of pancreatic cancer...
