In the preliminaries the three best times were made by Westmorly, 3 minutes, 10 seconds, a new record; Ridgely-Mount Auburn street, 3 minutes, 11 seconds; and Hollis-Holworthy-Stoughton, 3 minutes, 13 seconds.
