Keeping it under their hats, such orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, the New Friends of Music Orchestra recorded such works as the Beethoven Fifth Symphony, the Mozart G-Minor Symphony. Post readers could get each album (three or more disks) by presenting 24 vouchers clipped from the paper, plus $1.93 in cash. ...Agassiz Theatre wind players of the Longy School faculty and the Boston Symphony Orchestra with Mr. Elmer Schoettle at the piano will perform three unusually interesting selections: Beethoven's "Sonata for Horn and Piano" op. 17; the Brahms "Clarinet and Piano Sonata" op. 120, no. 2; and the Mozart "Quintet for Winds and Piano." Last week the Lincoln Symphony concert on Thursday evening was unexpectedly good, especially n the performance of the Mozart concerto for flute and harp. Probably the best concert of the week, however, was the Friday night Open House at the Longy School. The program was made up entirely of early eighteenth century chamber music which is at its best in the atmosphere of intimacy and informality which these recitals always have. The concert...
