Upcoming 'certs: Jimmy Cliff will have the Charles River to cross when he hits the Orpheum on the 19th of November. The Doobie Brothers and the Alpha Band'll be at the Music Hall November 5--where will you be? Taj and Ry (Mssrs. Mahal and Cooder) will double-boogey into town for a date at the Orpheum on November 14, and Robin Trower will hit the Music Hall on the 18th; that's the night before Jimmy Cliff will be at the Orpheum, in case you forgot. Now Aerosmith, with special guest Rich Derringer, will be featured...
What went on inside Watergate between Mssrs. Liddy, Hung, Dean, Gray, Stans, Chapin, Colson, McCord, Segretti, Magruder, Haldeman and Mitchell, and doubtless others, will take a legal expert to unravel. What stares us in the face, yet remains unsaid (either from motives of delicacy or hesitancy to deface Uncle Sam, or else perhaps from fear of reprisal) is that in so large an operation, the boss himself must have been informed, or if not, his ignorance is no less culpable...

It is only fair to note that these early spirit photographers...

Shaw and Plotz were clever enough to offer a cash prize to draw contributors; as a result, there's not a bad poem in the issue, if we except Eric Anderson's extemporaneous blues price which I am not qualified to judge but did not enjoy reading. John Lewis' "Certitudes," which think the right word is "reassuring." His poems in the March issue, particularly "The Uses of Poetry," had more glitter, but Mr. Lewis is a consistently skilled and mature writer. This poem, an anatomy of a dying grandmother, works...
...would be all right if Cocky and Sir were more than symbols, if they had witty lines, clever songs, or pleasing tunes. But Mssrs. Newley and Bricusse manipulate words with no regard to their meaning. Most of their songs are snappy but senseless...
