...very impressive service was held at the Harvard Church in Charlestown yesterday morning, on the occasion of the dedication of a beautiful mural monument to the late Dr. James Walker. The service was of especial interest to Harvard men from the fact that Dr. Walker was a member of the class of '14, and from 1818 until 1860 was officially connected with the university, filling the offices successively of overseer, fellow, Alford Professor and president. The service opened promptly at 10.30 with the rendition of an organ voluntary and the singing of the anthem "Integer Vitae" by the college choir...

...mural monument to Dr. James Walker, president of the university from 1853 to 1860, will be dedicated next Sunday in the Harvard Church in Charlestown of which he was pastor for more than twenty years - 1818-1839. The Rev. William Orne White (1840) son of Judge Daniel Appleton White (1797), an intimate friend of President Walker, will make the principal address. President Eliot will also speak.
