While working in Italy, Egypt and Turkey, he made a copy of the so-called "Alexander Sarcophagus" in the Imperial Museum, Constantinople, for the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and received the decoration of the third order, Medijieh, from the Sultan of Turkey.
