These drawings, which have been sent to the Museum as a loan by Mr. Morgan, are treasures of almost priceless value. The backbone of the Morgan collection of drawings consists of the well known Fairfax Murray collection, comprising more than twenty-five hundred examples, to which there have in recent years been very important additions from other sources, so that today this famous collection stands unrivalled in America.
