Little Shop of Horrors benefited from its strong, enthusiastic cast. In his role as the rather nerdy Seymour, David V. Kimel ’05 scrunched, got clumsy and was generally funny, while Warren M. Tusk ’05 played the vaguely stereotypical shopkeeper Mushnik with the right dose of silliness; their dancing duet, β€œMushnik & Son” (omitted from the film) was pretty funny...

That they do is largely a tribute to Daren Firestone and Nora Dicke, who play the unlikely protagonists who fall in love while working in a plant shop. Firestone is perfect as the nerdy nice guy Seymour who dreams of a life beyond Mr. Mushnik's plant shop. "I've given you sunshine, I've given you dirt/you've given me nothing but heartache and hurt," he sings plaintively to the strange plant "Audrey II" in his first number. Firestone has a good voice and is convincing in his later scenes of moral crisis...

...Davis and Kaiama Glover should be hired by every musical going up next semester. While it is obvious that the routines (like the music) are influenced by Motown, they are nonetheless fresh and exciting. Davis and Glover avoid the repetition that often characterizes student choreography. The tango segment in "Mushnik and Son" is a particularly creative choice...

...talented cast is led by Mo Rocca as Seymour, a schlemiel who works in a skid-row flower shop owned by Mushnik (Adam Schwartz). Seymour finds a strange plant, which he names Audrey II, after the Audrey who is the object of his affections (Sibel Ergener). Seymour discovers that the plant flourishes only when fed human blood--and it talks, to boot. He must struggle with the Faustian bargain Audrey II offers him: fame and success for the store and Seymour himself, in return for fresh flesh...
