Rural basketball coaches, inner-city math and music teachers - they are, as we all know, everywhere in the movies, inspiring their unlikely charges to equally unlikely triumphs. Sweeney is a figure of pathos with a sure tonsorial touch: Edward Scissorhands, meet Edward Razorhands.
