Died. Albert Mussey Johnson, 75, retired insurance executive, grubstaker of "Death Valley Scotty" and his legend of a fabulous gold mine; after an operation; in Los Angeles. Johnson met Desert Rat Scott in 1904, thereafter kept him supplied with enough money to maintain-for 26 years-the hoax of a private bonanza.
