...Reading about Lee Marvin's well-deserved Academy Award [April 29] reminds me of the story he told [June 4] about putting the "white eye" on me and scaring me so badly on a live TV show that I dropped my pistol. Lee is a very funny mythomaniac. Enclosed is the moldy kinescope of that show done nine years ago: it shows I hold on to the pistol even when dead.
