...deal or selling a Garbo, a Fonda, or a Hemingway. Mother was Margaret Sullavan, the husky-voiced star of the 30s and '40s. Though she was not a classic beauty, men found her bewitching: "The fairest of sights in twinkling lights is Sullavan with an a," rhapsodized Ogden Nash...
Spurred by the accurate outside shooting of John Kittle and Dave Neuschwander, Mower jumped to a nine-point lead midway through the first half. Behind the scoring of their 6-ft. 3-in. center, Rick Nash, and the playmaking of Dave Shryock, Weld narrowed the gap to a single point by intermission...
...murder. The evidence against Topa was strong but largely circumstantial: bits of wool found on his bloodstained jacket matched the woman's coat. When friends introduce him to pretty girls, he glowers and storms away. Finally, jogging in Central Park, he sees Miss Right II, a beautiful blonde named Marcie Nash, who captures his fancy by running faster than he does. They have dinner at "21" and exchange this year's most ungainly badinage...
