It is, however, likely to have the opposite effect for while they may frighten the populace into voting for union with Germany, this outburst of Nasi activity is sure to call forth violent protests from France which will probably take the form of demands that some methods other than a plebescite be resorted to in order to ascertain the possession of the Saar. There is no doubt that France would be justified in this policy...
