DISAGREEMENTS between labor and management are nothing to write home about. But the undercurrent of dissatisfaction with the University has not always existed, many workers say. They point to the administration of former President Nathan M. Pusey '28 (one certainly not free of all labor troubles) as a time of relative harmony. The workers swallowed the negotiated agreements, however imperfect, because of identification with the Harvard community and a personal relationship with the University administrators. "President Pusey had the philosophy that students and staff were part of the same Harvard community, and he could relate to the lowest...
...fourth lead, David Levi as Nathan Detroit, is the weakest of the four, but still manages to fill the bill. Nathan should be played somewhere along the line between macho and henpecked-neurotic, the way Sam Levene created the character in the original back in '47. Levi has a nice voice, but it doesn't help much; Nathan doesn't have to sing very often. His characterization seems somehow too neurotic, too much mama's boy and not quite enough swagger for the proprietor of a floating crap game. But he's funny. They're all funny, or at least...
THEN COMES the fine supporting cast, all of whom perform up to expectations. Most House shows would be hard pressed to come up with leads as good as this supporting cast: Shipley Munson and David Frutkoff form a fine duo as Nathan's sidekicks, and their rendition of the title song is as good as any. Among the others, Jim Mulqueeny, Michael der Manuelian, Kerry Konrad and Marc Johnson strut their stuff with authority...

...nothing can keep down Frank Burrows' beautiful score, ranging from the delicious "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat" to the exquisite "I'll Know." We think the witty book by Swerling and Burrows can hold its own, too. Guys and Dolls relates two love stories: that of Nathan Detroit, operator of the "oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York" and Miss Adelaide, his fiancee of 14 years; and that of big-time gambler Sky Masterson and Sarah Brown, a Salvation Army lass. Based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, Guys and Dolls opens tonight...
