...sure I would agree with that adjective "leftist" attached to Cardenas or to what he represents in Mexico. I think "leftist" has a connotation in the U.S.: Communism, or anti-Americanism, which is not applicable to Cardenas. I would call Cardenas a left-of-center nationalist alternative to the present system. Does he represent a threat to the U.S.? I don't think so.
