Cherica Adams, 24, was gunned down Nov. 16 while driving her black BMW in a tony neighborhood of Charlotte, N.C. It was after midnight when, according to police, she came under fire from a drive-by car with three passengers. She was hit in the neck, chest and abdomen, but managed to call 911, surviving long enough to apparently finger Carruth, who is believed to be the baby's father.
