...turmoil of present affairs. And for this reason the real importance of less evident facts is often unappreciated. Such a situation the CRIMSON believes exists in connection with the administration which has governed the University since the election of President Lowell in 1909. In short, many of us appreciate neither the number nor the importance of the vigorous administrative measures which are maintaining for Harvard the leading position achieved under President Eliot...
...interest of the undergraduate is discouraged by the presence of two rival magazines. He does not care particularly for either, so he neglects the two impartially. The logical result of this division of interest is a struggle between the boards for the comparatively small patronage of the College. Neither of the two receives quite enough material to fill its issues without the addition of systematic editorial padding. Brilliant stories, poems, and articles flash forth occasionally from both papers; but their effect is lessened by the mediocre matter which predominates. Neither team played well together, but depended on individual work, in which the Battery forwards were far superior. R. Whidden '12 and R. J. Eaton '12 played the best game for the Battery, each scoring many times after carrying the puck the length of the rink. For the Troop, R. Lovering '08 excelled. The line-up: BATTERY A. TROOP B. R. J. Eaton '12, l.e. r.e., R. Lovering '08, J. S. Parker '13, J. Tyler '10 R. Whidden...
