Currently, Islamic Studies is mostly confined to the religious and historical aspects of the faith, and especially to Islam in the Middle East. ...March 8 magazine article "No Strings Attached?" incorrectly stated that offices of the Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC) department are located at 1430 Mass. Ave., above CVS. While the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and some NELC faculty do have offices at the site, the department's headquarters are at the Semitic Museum on 6 Divinity Avenue.
